The Ladder Crystal

In this paper, we introduce a new model of the crystal B(Λ0) of c sl`. We briefly describe some of the properties of this crystal and compare it to the combinatorial model of Misra and Miwa. Résumé. Dans cet article on propose un nouveau modèle du cristal B(Λ0) de c sl`. On décrit brièvement les propriétés du cristal et on le compare avec le modèle combinatoire de Misra et Miwa.

Knowledge management: the ladder of research utilization

Introduction: Knowledge management helps us to share, learn and regenerate the new knowledge. Knowledge is the most important asset and greatest competitive advantage of many organizations today. Simultaneously, it can be observed that many organizations realize it is highly problematic and complicated to collect, store, retrieve, find, disseminate and reuse knowledge in modern fast changing or...

Quantum melting of the hole crystal in the spin ladder of Sr(14-x)CaxCu24O41.

We have used resonant soft x-ray scattering to study the effects of discommensuration on the hole Wigner crystal (HC) in the spin ladder Sr(14-x)CaxCu24O41 (SCCO). As the hole density is varied the HC forms only with the commensurate wave vectors L(L) = 1/5 and L(L) = 1/3; for incommensurate values it "melts." A simple scaling between L(L) and temperature is observed, tau1/3/tau1/5 = 5/3, indic...

The birank number of ladder, prism and Mobius ladder graphs

Given a graph G, a function f : V (G)→ {1, 2, ..., k} is a k-biranking of G if f(u) = f(v) implies every u-v path contains vertices x and y such that f(x) > f(u) and f(y) < f(u). The birank number of a graph, denoted bi(G), is the minimum k such that G has a k-biranking. In this paper we determine the birank numbers for ladder, prism, and Möbius ladder graphs.

Jm Partitions and a Ladder Based Model for the Basic Crystal

In [1], Vazirani and I gave a new interpretation of what we called ℓ-partitions, also known as (ℓ, 0)-Carter partitions. The primary interpretation of such a partition λ is that it corresponds to a Specht module S λ which remains irreducible over the finite Hecke algebra Hn(q) when we specialize q to a primitive ℓ th root of unity. In [1], we relied heavily on the description of such a partitio...
